KODIAK
COMBO 2008 RATES
Kodiak Combos is the longest established guide service on the eastside
of Kodiak Island. We do not own any of the lodging facilities here
but feel that they all provide a great place to sleep and rest,
I do however own 100% of my guiding business.

August and September King and Silver Salmon, Ling cod,
Halibut, Rockfish and Sitka Blacktail deer. Deer season opens on
August 1st.
October
Duck season opens. Still a chance for Kings, Halibut, Rockfish and
Ling cod in the ocean. Silver salmon are in streams and still bright.
Great month for bow hunting and fly fishing.
November usually the month for rifle hunters. Seaducks
start to show up in the Bays. Halibut and Rockfish are still in
the Bay.
December and January are reserved for seaduck hunters
but the first week in December is for last minute deer hunters.
Halibut can be found in deeper water in December as with cod in
January.
A 50% deposit is required at the time of the booking. If you need
to cancel for any reason, a refund of your deposit will only be
returned when the dates you originally scheduled are filled by another
group or individual.
All fishing gear for halibut and salmon is provided -- Avet, Shimano
& Accurate reels and G Loomis and Berkley rods. Pulling in a
50+ pound king salmon with 30 pound test mono is a thrill. Fighting
halibut from shallow waters (180 feet) with 80 pound test toughline
proves a lot better than pulling up your fish from 300 feet like
other coastal fishing traps. We don't travel far at all from our
port. Our shallow water fishing spots are only minutes away. Stuart
Exell of Portland, OR caught his record halibut, 319 pounds, within
15 minutes of our dock in 135 feet of water. The average halibut
are about 50 pounds but it's not uncommon to land a 150-pounder.
